Your Medication List Changes. Your Emergency Profile Should Too.
MyAllyFile can now keep a profile's medications in step with Domi Ops, so the list a first responder sees is the one you actually use.
By Mike Whobrey
An emergency medical profile is only as good as it is current. And the part that goes out of date fastest is medications. A dose changes. Something gets paused. A new prescription starts. The profile you set up eight months ago keeps saying what was true eight months ago.
That is the gap I wanted to close. I build both MyAllyFile and Domi Ops, short for Domicile Operations. Domi Ops is the household hub my family runs on: calendar, chores, budgets, school and medications in one place, built for homeschooling families and families managing complicated health needs. Medications are where the two products overlap, so I connected them.
What it does
If you track someone's medications in Domi Ops Cloud, you can link them to a MyAllyFile profile. From then on, all of that person's current medications are copied to the profile whenever they change in Domi Ops. Medications you delete in Domi Ops drop off the profile. Paused, as-needed and over-the-counter medications are marked as such.
You keep one list, and the emergency profile follows it.
How to link a profile
- In MyAllyFile, open Settings, then Connected apps, and choose Connect Domi Ops next to the profile you want to link. You get a one-time code. It works once and expires after 10 minutes.
- In Domi Ops, open Settings for that person (or Profile, if it is your own) and paste the code.
That is it. The first sync happens right away, and the profile shows a "Medications from Domi Ops" section.
What a responder sees
Synced medications appear in their own labelled section on the emergency profile, with the date they were last updated. Paused ones are flagged. Anything you typed into MyAllyFile by hand stays in its own list, untouched. The two never get mixed together, so a sync cannot overwrite something you entered yourself.
You stay in control
- It only goes one way. Domi Ops sends medications to MyAllyFile. Nothing is ever read back.
- Synced medications are read-only in MyAllyFile. Domi Ops is the source of truth, so editing them in two places would just mean one edit gets lost.
- You can unlink at any time, from either app. Unlinking removes the synced medications from the profile.
- Same protection as the rest of the profile. Synced medications are stored encrypted, like everything else. One thing to know: anyone who has the profile's emergency PIN can see them, the same as the rest of the profile.
What you need
- A MyAllyFile Plus or Pro plan. (Plus covers up to 3 profiles and Pro up to 6, so you can link family members and dependents too.)
- Domi Ops Cloud. Self-hosted Domi Ops is not supported.
If you are on the Free plan, you will see an upgrade prompt when you try to link. Everything else about your profile works as before.
Where to start
If you already use Domi Ops, open Settings in MyAllyFile and look for Connected apps. If you do not, the plans page has the details on what each plan includes.
MyAllyFile is a convenience for the people around you. It is not a substitute for calling emergency services or for professional medical advice.
